About Me

Abbey Schell (Western Trainer) has had a passion for horses since she was a little girl. She started volunteering at several local barns where she learned to ride from anyone and everyone who would teach her. Starting in English, Abbey quickly changed her focus to Western riding, as she had always dreamed of being a cowgirl. Finally in April 2009, her dream came true.

In response to an ad on Monster.com, Abbey was given a job as a horse wrangler at the Marlboro Ranch (also known as Crazy Mountain Ranch) in Clyde Park, Montana. Here she was certified in teaching Western/English I by the Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA) and participated in week long Parelli Training and Wagon Driving clinics. At the ranch she was responsible for helping to maintain a herd of 107 horses, including everything from nutrition to first aid. Each wrangler had 10 horses that they were directly in charge of, making sure they were trained (several of them had never been ridden) and ready for guests to ride. She also was extremely involved with the guests, leading trail rides and cattle drives, teaching Basic Horsemanship classes and Roping techniques.

Abbey has been teaching lessons for riders of all ages for 4 years. Her unique experiences and positive attitude are guaranteed to make your lesson experience a great one. She doesn't just teach you to ride, she teaches you how to own, train and communicate with your horse.
